The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It is smaller than other options, making it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into narrow corners or Robotvacuummops.Uk on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and is effective however, this is something that you'll need to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and methodically. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively fast.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surface areas. These include corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the intensity of its suction and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will determine the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.
The device has a expensive price, but comes with a large selection of innovative features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs periodic costs in the form of mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap in and out of place. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect a lot of the hair sheds from our cats. It even got into the nooks and crannies on our stairs, where other robots have struggled. The noise levels were low and there were nice jingles to inform you that it was beginning and getting its work done.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app can't store multiple maps, which can be a pain for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for a smart robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock that serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base also has a variety of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start a cleaning job or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.
This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in a hazard, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its app.
Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang &
